Shia LaBeouf to watch all his films back to back for #allmymovies project

Shia LaBeouf will spend the next three days in a movie theater in downtown New York watching his own movies in reverse chronological order.

The actor will be at the Angelika Film Center surveying his body of work, 24 hours a day, alongside an audience as part of a performance art project, titled #allmymovies.

Since early October, LaBeouf has teased the experiment by tweeting context-free lines from all the movies he’s appeared in over the course of his career. On Tuesday, he tweeted a link to the official press release announcing his performance, which launched on Tuesday with a screening of Man Down.

Admission to each screening is free, with 10-minute intervals breaking up each film. For those unable to make it, there’s a livestream focused solely on LaBeouf’s face.

The project comes from the art collective headed by the actor, and artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner. LaBeouf has worked with the pair before, most memorably on #IAMPERFORMANCE; an art project that saw the actor sitting silently in a Los Angeles gallery with a paper bag over his head, bearing the legend: “I am not famous anymore.”

Visitors were encouraged to confront him with a variety of props, including pliers and a bullwhip. Following the experiment, LaBeouf alleged that he was raped during the show by a woman who forced herself on him.

He also appeared in Sia’s music video for Elastic Heart, which was accused of glorifying pedophilia, and collaborated with art students at Central St Martins in London, where he appeared in 36 video clips.
