Sheyi Ojo reveals the key Rangers factor behind his fast start and explains Jimmy Bell's vital Ibrox role

Sheyi Ojo is over the moon with his instant impact at Rangers and is targeting a season to remember at Ibrox.

The 21-year-old has wasted no time in getting down to business and was the best player on the park in the 4-0 Europa League qualifying win over St Joseph's.

Ojo capped off an excellent competitive debut with a cool finish and Steven Gerrard will be hoping the Liverpool loanee can continue his bright start.

And the player himself admits the family atmosphere withing the Ibrox dressing room is major reason why he's been able to settle so quickly.

Ojo told Rangers TV : "From day one, I've been made to feel important in the squad.

"That's important, you want to feel a part of it, everyone is looking forward to the first few weeks and we'll take things as they come.

"It's just the feeling of the club and the staff, From Jimmy (Bell) the kitman, everyone is just really nice and welcoming.

"When you are coming in as a loan player and a new players then it's important.

"I knew a lot of the staff already so that was an added bonus.

"A lot of it is mental. If you can stay focused and stay professional, as I always try and do, then there is no real excuses not to do well on the pitch."

Ojo is desperate to grab his Ibrox opportunity with both hands and believes the season he spent with Reims should stand him in good stead.

Going abroad and getting increased minutes is the route many young British players are taking and the wide man believes it can have long-term benefits.

He added: "When you play abroad you get more exposure and more game time.

(PA)

"Every young players wants opportunities to play. I think in England, especially in the Premier League, it's difficult.

"There are opportunities when you play abroad in the Bundesliga or in France and you do well for a season you can get a move to another big club.

"I think it's just the initial exposure and the opportunities that it gives.

"Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in the world. Playing in the Europa League gives exposure and it gives players the chance to well and also for the club."
