Shettleston attack: Man seriously injured in broad daylight assault on Pettigrew Street

A man has been seriously injured after being attacked on a Shettleston street in broad daylight.

Police were called to the scene of a serious assault on Pettigrew Street in Glasgow's east end at lunchtime yesterday (Tuesday).

The 40-year-old victim was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medics describe his condition as stable.

Police are now appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time for information.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.45pm on Tuesday, 16 March, we received a report of a serious assault in Pettrigrew Street in Glasgow.

“A 40-year-old man suffered serious injury and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

“Enquires are ongoing and anyone with information in connection is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1287 of 16 March."
