Sherwood Pines to close to the public next week for vital road repairs

A popular tourist attraction in Nottinghamshire is urging visitors not to travel to its site next week as it carries out vital repairs to its site.

Sherwood Pines, near Mansfield, is set to close its doors to the public on Monday (January 25) as road repairs take place at its 3,300-acre site.

Forestry England, which manages the site, says it is undertaking the work while customer numbers are limited in lockdown, seeing it as the "least disruptive time" to do the repairs.

It means attractions like the bike shop, cafe and Go Ape will not be open to the public, while its entrance drive and car parks will also be closed.

Revealing the news on Facebook, Sherwood Pines said: "We need to make some road repairs.

"As we are currently in lockdown and therefore visitor numbers are limited to those in the very local area, we thought this would be the least disruptive time.

"Our entrance driveway, car parks, cafe, bike shop and Go Ape will all be closed. Please do not travel to Sherwood Pines on Monday."

Neighbouring Center Parcs is currently closed to all customers during the third national lockdown.
