Ex-Tottenham duo Tim Sherwood and Jamie O’Hara agree that Tottenham striker Harry Kane will not down tools as he seeks a transfer away from north London.
The forward’s future has been up in the air throughout the summer, with it being made clear that he would like a fresh challenge.
As of yet, no progress has been made on a deal that would see Kane leave, although he did miss his return to training after a post-season holiday - earning considerable criticism from supporters.
Kane released a statement clarifying the situation a few days afterwards, stating that he was soon due to be back at Spurs' Enfield training base.
Both Sherwood and O’Hara believe that Kane's commitment in training will not be affected despite the constant noise surrounding his future.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the former said: "[Les Ferdinand and I] know the boy better than anyone as a footballer and a person and he’s not going to down tools.
"It's not in his make-up. He would never do it. He loves the football club and appreciates what the football club has given him and he'll just hope he gets the same respect in return.
"He obviously made it clear he wants to leave the club and now it’s up to the powers that be to give him his way or decide he needs to stay for another year."
That is a sentiment that O’Hara already agrees on having also given his thoughts to talkSPORT last month.
He said: "It's a really difficult situation because squad members will know that he obviously wants to go.
"But look, he is our best player, he is Mr. Spurs and he is the ultimate professional. I don’t think he is one of those who is going to kick up a massive fuss if it doesn’t get done.
"He will understand it and he will get on with it.
"He will still perform at the top level next season for Spurs, he will score and be the leader I guarantee it."
