Sherrie Hewson says Loose Women is 'too PC now' as bosses 'afraid of being cancelled'

Sherrie Hewson believes Loose Women lacks drama as panellists have to be “so careful” about what they.

The former Benidorm star, 71, spent 14 years on the ITV chat show, and recalls having blazing rows with co-stars Janet Street-Porter and Carol McGiffin.

But she doesn’t think that happens nowadays as producers are too afraid of being cancelled.

She said: “We had the most amazing rows. It was all real, it wasn’t put on.

“We had a lot of freedom then but it’s not there now.”

Sherrie insists she “says what she wants” on her YouTube show, but misses her old show.

She said: “We had lots of ups and downs. But I had the best of times.”

Speaking in a recent interview, Sherrie revealed she is still in touch with some of her former co-stars.

"I was there for 16 years, so we have a connection," she said. "I knew Denise Welch’s dad Vin [who died of pneumonia in September] well. I know what Denise is going through, having lost my brother. I feel for her so much."
