Sherlyn Chopra's witness statement in Raj Kundra's chargesheet: I never received my share of 50 percent income from my app

Mumbai Police's Crime Branch filed a 1467-page chargesheet in the pornography case against Raj Kundra and his companies. Earlier in the day it was revealed that Raj Kundra’s wife Shilpa Shetty was also one of the witnesses in the chargesheet and her statement was also mentioned in the document.

Now, it has come to light that model and actress Sherlyn Chopra is also a witness and her statement has also been recorded in the chargesheet. In her statement recorded in the Crime Branch's document Sherlyn has been quoted as saying, “I had hired Arms Prime Pvt Ltd to make the Sherlyn Chopra App. The directors of Arms Prime were Saurabh Kushvah and Raj Kundra.”

The statement also reveals that the Sherlyn Chopra app was used to broadcast bold photos and videos of Sherlyn and as per an understanding, the income generated was going to Arms Prime Pvt Ltd and they were supposed to share 50 percent of that income with Sherlyn. But that never happened. Sherlyn has further stated, “I never received my share of 50 per cent. Thereafter, Raj Kundra approached me to work for the HotShots app, a subsidiary of Arms Prime Pvt Ltd. I was assured it was perfectly fine to work for HotShots. I was also told that HotShots would have bolder content and videos. But we couldn’t come to an agreement over creative ideas and the monetary aspect of the deal, which is why I declined Raj Kundra’s offer to work on HotShots. The creative director at Hotshots, Mita Jhunjhunwala tried to convince me to work for them, too.”

Raj Kundra and his IT head Ryan Thorpe have been charged under various sections of IPC and sections of the Information Technology Act and Indecent Representation of Women (prohibition) Act 1986. Reportedly, Raj Kundra’s brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi and Yash Thakur have been named as absconding accused in the chargesheet.
