Sherif Lanre's mum savages Love Island for treating him 'unfairly'

Sherif Lanre's mum has blasted Love Island for treating her son "unfairly" - despite admitting she still doesn't know what rule he broke to get him chucked out of the villa.

Diana Rollanson-Williams said she won't see Sherif for another couple of days while he spends time in aftercare with producers, having made a "silly mistake" that got him hauled in front of TV bosses and told to immediately leave.

Diana, who works as a psychotherapist for troubled children, said she still needs to review Sherif's time on the show to see how he acted.

"I don't know the real reason yet, but I'm determined to get to the bottom of it," she told Mail Online .

"I don't know if he has actually done anything wrong yet. I need to look at his Love Island code of conduct and I need to speak to him properly to find out what really happened."

Diana added: "But I'm his mum, I'm going to think it was a bit unfair. I think so. I'm going to defend my son."

While watching the show, she said, Sherif seemed to be having a good time - and she's spent plenty of time with her professional hat on considering what the Love Island cast might be thinking as they're filmed 24/7 in the villa.

"He is a lovely, lovely young man, a great boy. He is not a fame chaser. He was not looking for fame," she went on.

"He was spotted buying a sandwich by producers and asked to go on the show so he isn't 'fame-hungry. Sherif is just a very tall, lovely young man who was invited to join the show, which he thought would be a great opportunity. And I still think it was."

Diana said her last words to Sherif before he left for the airport were to, "enjoy yourself, be yourself, this is a great adventure, nothing more and nothing less".

"That's exactly what it was," she added.

It came after Mirror Online exclusively revealed how producers had pulled Sherif into the Beach Hut after he made a "silly mistake".

The 20-year-old hunk "knew he had to leave immediately" when he was hauled in for a serious talk.

No security guards were involved, and this was not considered to be a criminal matter, said a Love Island insider.
