Sheridan Smith shares pictures of her two stone weight loss

Actress Sheridan Smith has taken to social media to share pictures of her weight loss.

The 38-year-old OBE awarded star has lost two stone since the the start of rehearsals for her latest West End show - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Sheridan plays the Narrator in the sell out show, which is the character with the most singing lines of any other role.

Sheridan candidly shared a message with her Instagram followers to say that she's not one for diets and that 'everyone should be comfortable in their own skin' - but it's clear she's ecstatic with her transformation.

She said: "I’m not one for weight loss regimes as I think everyone should be comfortable in their own skin but comparing today's pic to day 1 of rehearsals on [ Joseph ] l have lost 2 stone!"

The message was accompanied with two photos of herself - from a few days ago compared with the start of rehearsals for the Andrew Lloyd Webber show.

Both images have a black and white filter, but a visibly slimmer and more defined face is captured by Sheridan in the most recent snap.

Support rushed in for the Two Pints of Larger and a Packet of Crisps sitcom star with a number of fans saying that she looks 'fab'.

One said: "I’m not surprised it’s very energetic" and another posted a heartfelt message that size doesn't matter: "Thats amazing, you are gorgeous whatever size. Just be you. Being a happy you is more important. You are fab stay that way no matter what x".

Friends in showbiz were also quick to send messages of positivity with the likes of actress Jaime Winstone and singer/actress Donna Air.

"You look fab!! Love you so much," Jaime wrote, while Donna shared a heart emoji.

Sheridan formerly had to cancel her performances in the West End (PA)

Sheridan recently opened up about her mental health problems earlier in July with an interview with BBC Breakfast.

"It's taken me years to get to a place where I felt like I could own it and then say it. It was speculated that I was struggling," she said on the morning couch.

"There were different doctors giving me different medication – but I'm finally in a good place. It took a massive thing to actually say 'I'm struggling and I need help'. So I understand it is hard for people," Sheridan added.

Back in 2016, Sheridan had to pull out of a number of performances of another West End musical - Funny Girl - following the diagnosis and later death of her father.
