Sheridan Smith's intense fitness routine before next role revealed

Sheridan Smith’s personal trainer has revealed how she is training for her next role, with an intense fitness routine.

The actress, 44, will soon be working on mystery thriller Two Birds, and she’s started a tough training regimen, led by celebrity personal trainer Tom Brown.

“Excited to be working closely with @sherdiansmithster as she steps into her new kick-ass role,” Brown shared on Instagram, alongside a selfie of the pair.

“Brilliant session today — already laying down strong foundations and building real momentum. Looking forward to this next chapter… let’s get to work.”

“You’re the best,” Smith commented on the post.

Speaking to Good Housekeeping, Brown has revealed the exact steps they’ll be taking to prepare Smith for the role.

The trainer said they are not “chasing a quick transformation”, but they are rather focusing on “daily habits done well: quality training, smart nutrition, good recovery and consistency”.

He then revealed they would be “ training around 4-5 times per week with strength training as the foundation”, with each session around “45-60 minutes”.

Breaking down their sessions, he added: “We start with 10-15 minutes of pre-activation – things like bodyweight glute bridges (including single leg), dorsal raises and general prep work.”

He said they then work on “strength” with “squats, thrusters, shoulder presses”, followed by “functional or explosive conditioning, usually towards the end of the session – things like rope slams, Ski-Erg work [a full-body cardio machine that replicates cross-country skiing] or weighted burpees”.

Brown said their sessions always end with “some mobility and a proper cool-down”.

It’s not just exercise — in terms of eating, Brown says there’s no “extreme dieting” and they’ve set a “balanced, high-protein approach that supports training, recovery and energy”.

For those wanting to replicate Brown’s routine, he recommends working out “2-4 times per week using full-body strength or bodyweight workouts”.

And for people to drink enough water, sleep well and keep on top of stress, cut back on sugar, alcohol and ultra-processed food, eat regularly and increase daily movement.

Brown is the founder of 1st Class Bootcamp, a luxury fitness retreat, and he’s worked with a variety of celebrities, athletes and CEOs.
