This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield did not know where to look as they spoke to actress Sheridan Smith on Wednesday.
She was discussing her new reality show Pooch Perfect, a competition to find the best dog groomers in the country.
And two of her own dogs were running around in the background while she was on the video call, fighting each other and at one point humping.
Phil and Holly's eyes widened in shock as the two dogs got a little amorous with each other on the screen.
Apologetic, Sheridan said: "You can see my dogs, this is mayhem, I am so sorry, it sounds like heavy breathing, it's really weird!"
Phil gasped: "Oh, hello! Oh heavens!"
"They were very friendly then," said Phil.
"I don't know whether I should look away?" wondered Holly.
Phil asked his producer: "Is it possible you can tighten the shot slightly? Tilt up, tilt up, tilt up!"
Sheridan giggled: "I am so sorry, you should know not to have me on after panto!"
Viewers found the debacle hilarious, with one tweeting: "OMG Sheridan Smiths doggos just started sh*gging on live tv...see it all on #ThisMorning."
Another penned: "No-ones listening to what Sheridan Smith's talking about we're more interested in the dogs scraping and trying to mount each other in the background #ThisMorning."
"Loving Sheridan Smith's badly behaved dogs #thismorning," added a third.
"Sheridan Smith’s dog’s being more entertaining than she is #ThisMorning," joked a fourth.
Sheridan will be hosting Pooch Perfect alongside a dog named Stanley, as 16 professional groomers battle it out to win the title of the best dog groomers in the country.
The show will be aired on BBC One as the groomers take part in various different challenges with one eliminated each week.
They will be judged by Colin Taylor, Verity Hardcastle, and vet Bolu Eso, in the programme that begins on Thursday night at 7pm.
