Sheridan Smith looks glam as steps out for new film premiere after keeping away from the spotlight

Sheridan Smith put on a glam and smiley display as she attended the premiere of her new film role. The actress is set to appear in The Railway Children Return, the sequel to the 1970 film favourite.

She joined co-star Jenny Agutter at the world premiere of the new movie at Keighley Picture House Cinema, Keighley, West Yorkshire, on Sunday (July 3) after boarding a train at Oakworth Station in Haworth. The Call The Midwife actress, who was a teenager when she shot to fame as the oldest of the Waterbury children, Bobbie, in the 1970 film, is portrayed as a grown woman in the sequel.

Sheridan, 40, will be playing her daughter Annie and the pair boarded the train alongside their other castmates including Tom Courtenay, John Bradley-West, KJ Aikens, Zac Cudby, Austin Haynes, Eden Hamilton, and Beau Gadson.

Mum-of-one Sheridan looked gorgeous for the occasion as she wore a pale blue midi dress with large white floral pattern and matching platform sandals. She styled her blonde, loosely curled locks to one side, with minimal accessories and delicate makeup. But she added a pop of colour with he striking orange nails.

And they just so happened to match Jenny's dress as she stood out as she opted for a coral mid-length number which featured a high neck and long sleeves. The 69-year-old added a pair of black court shoes to her look and also kept accessories to a minimum with just a pair of large twisted gold studs.

After taking their train ride, the cast were joined by a few other famous faces to watch the film in all its big-screen glory for the first time. Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn joined current star of the ITV soap Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Riordan, at the premiere.

During her appearance, Sheridan was seen grinning for the awaiting cameras as well as giving a thumbs up to those waiting outside the cinema. It comes as the West End and TV star has kept away from the spotlight since her jewellery was reportedly stolen by a gang of thieves while on the set of her latest project.

As mentioned already, Jenny is reprising her role as Roberta 'Bobbie' Waterbury over five decades since the original film which was based on the 1906 novel of the same name by E Nesbit. She is joined by her on-screen daughter played by Sherdian as they dote on the evacuees: Lily, Pattieand Ted.
