Sheridan Smith hits back at claims she was 'sacked' from musical Joseph for being 'rude' to kids

Sheridan Smith has responded to claims that she was 'sacked' from starring in West End musical Joseph for being 'rude' to its child stars.

The actress has now come out to deny the reports that said she was fired for telling some of her young co-stars to leave her alone during an afterparty.

Hitting back on Instagram , Sheridan slammed the allegations ad "bullsh**" and heaped praise on the shows young actors.

The 38-year-old wrote: "The story today is completely untrue, the kids in the show were the only reason I stayed the whole run.

"I love every single one of them and the kids and their parents became family.

"Also I never ever went to a single party as I am in recovery so this is all fabricated."

Sheridan, who has starred in countless West End shows including Legally Blonde and Funny Girl, has been backed up by parents of her former co-stars.

One father wrote: "Absolute lies... Jack loved working alongside you in Joseph.

"You were amazing with the kids. And fact is there was no after party with the kids and parents present !! God bless you...

"Jacks own words this am- 'tell them to sod off!'"

According to the Mirror , representatives for Sheridan have insisted she was only contracted for a "one-off" stint in the show and is now planning to take time off to spend time with her fiancé Jamie Horn.

Sheridan spent the summer starring in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as the narrator opposite Jason Donovan at the London Palladium.

Before her final show in September, she said that she "loved being part of such an incredible show."
