Sheridan Smith 'devastated' by Jamie Horn split and 'struggling to get through it'

Sheridan Smith is said to be "devastated" after splitting from her fiancé Jamie Horn.

The Gavin and Stacey actress, 40, is "struggling to get through" the breakup, which she recently confirmed, and believed that Jamie was The One, it's claimed.

She met Jamie on the dating app Tinder in 2018 and they got engaged shortly afterwards, before welcoming their son Billy, now one, in May last year.

A source close to the star told OK! magazine: "Sheridan is struggling to get through the split.

"She put him out there for everyone to see and she really thought he was The One."

Their relationship had been a rocky one, and in 2019, Sheridan accused Jamie's mum of killing her dog and threatening her "every day" in a now deleted tweet.

She later apologised for the tweet.

The source added: "She had the public falling out with his mother and they got through all of that, but sadly it hasn't worked out."

It's also claimed that her split from Jamie brought back the pain she suffered after the loss of her dad to cancer in 2016.

The source continued: "She's devastated. This has brought back all the feelings of missing her dad because he was her tower of strength."

Sheridan is said to be hoping that they can give the relationship another go, but she's not holding out much hope.

The source went on: "In her heart she's hoping they can make it right, but it doesn't look like there's any way back.

"They have a baby together and it's tough. She's heartbroken."

The Mirror has contacted a rep for Sheridan and is currently awaiting comment.

After rumours of their breakup began to swirl, Sheridan and Jamie confirmed their breakup in a statement.

They said: "It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart.

"We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together."

Sheridan and Jamie split after she admitted that they had been struggling to adjust to parenthood.

Speaking to the I Newspaper about becoming a mum, she previously said: "It's surreal. You're kind of walking around in a bit of a daze.

"If it hadn't been a pandemic, we would have had more people to rely on so we could both go and get some rest; but thank goodness we had each other."

She added: "We were walking around like zombies, and we didn't really know what day it was.

"When there's this bundle of joy, though, the good times make up for the bad."
