Sheridan Smith denies she was fired from Joseph for being 'rude' to kids as she's backed by parents

Sheridan Smith has hit back at false claims she lost her job in West End musical Joseph for being mean to a group of child actors.

The award-winning actress, 38, denied she was fired from the show for telling some of her young co-stars to leave her alone during an afterparty.

In a report published by The Sun On Sunday , Sheridan was said to have "very rudely told them to go away".

The paper's source added: "Obviously bosses heard what happened and were very unimpressed with Sheridan.

“The next we heard, her contract was not being renewed

However, Sheridan has now hit back at the allegations, calling the claims "bulls**t".

In a post on Instagram , she wrote: "The story today is completely untrue, the kids in the show were the only reason I stayed the whole run.

"I love every single one of them and the kids and their parents became family.

"Also I never ever went to a single party as I am in recovery so this is all fabricated."

The father of one of her young co-stars commented on her post and insisted Sheridan had been great with all the kids in the show.

He wrote: "Absolute lies... Jack loved working alongside you in Joseph.

"You were amazing with the kids. And fact is there was no after party with the kids and parents present !! God bless you...

"Jacks own words this am- 'tell them to sod off!'”

Representatives for Sheridan have insisted she was only contracted for a "one-off" stint in the show and is now planning to take time off to spend time with her fiance Jamie Horn.

Sheridan starred as the narrator in the West End show opposite Jason Donovan as Joseph.
