Sheridan Smith 'can't wait' to tell story as she teases 'truths will come out'

Sheridan Smith has mysteriously wiped her Twitter and Instagram accounts - after excitedly teasing what's to come in her new book.

The actress and mum, 39, penned a tweet to her dedicated army of fans saying that she "can't wait" for them to get their hands on a copy of Honestly: My Story.

Keeping details vague, Sheridan told that "a lot of truths will come out", adding: "I hope you finally understand."

The book is expected to hit shelves in October this year.

Penguin Publishing describes Honestly as "a northern soul speaking from the heart."

It also gives vague details about "feelings of imposter syndrome, struggles with her mental health and panic attacks."

"Packed with showbiz adventure, funny and warm, but dark times and heartbreak too," the description reads.

"This is the real Sheridan Smith, the incredible woman behind that prodigious talent."

Fans were delighted at the recent announcement that Sheridan has joined the cast of the upcoming The Railway Children Return, a sequel to the 1970 classic.

Filming is expected to kick off later this month, with Sheridan joined by original star Jenny Agutter and Sir Tom Courtenay.

She'll also star alongside Emmerdale actor and Strictly champ Kelvin Fletcher in Channel 5 drama Teacher, which will see her character Jenna accused of a drunken sexual encounter with one of her pupils.

Meanwhile, away from the cameras, the proud mum documented son Billy's first birthday, which she marked with a jungle-themed party.

"My precious Billy's 1st Birthday..." she wrote, "Becoming a mother has been the most rewarding job in the world.

"In between a busy filming schedule, we managed to celebrate my son's special day with some family and what a day it was!"

Sheridan and Jamie Horn welcomed baby Billy in May last year.
