Shelbourne sign forward Aaron Dobbs from Longford Town

Shelbourne have signed forward Aaron Dobbs from Longford Town ahead of their Premier Division return.

The First Division champions have moved for the 20-year-old who broke into the Shamrock Rovers first-team as a teenager.

Shels boss Ian Morris said: “Aaron has caught my eye over the last few years, he holds the ball up well, has pace and is a really exciting talent.

“It’s great to get him on a two-year contract as he fits the profile of what we’re doing here,” he added.

Dobbs said: “I’m absolutely delighted to join such a big club, steeped in history and back where it belongs in the Premier.”

Elsewhere, Kyle Callan-McFadden has signed a contract extension with Sligo Rovers until the end of next season.

Bit O’Red boss Liam Buckley said: “Kyle is a really solid defender and a good leader. We’ve got some proper defenders here.

“We still have some business to do and there will be one or two new faces coming in. We don’t want big numbers for the sake of it. It’ll be a tight squad.”
