It turns out we’ve been saying the names of some of our favourite brands wrong - for years.
When it comes down to the likes of Google or Tesco, there’s no way you could possibly mispronounce them. But what about Ellesse, Porsche or Moschino?
It’s already been proven that we’d all been saying ASOS wrong for a long time - it’s ‘Ace-oss’, not ‘A-soss’.

As it turns out, there are plenty of brands that people have been getting mixed up, including Nicce, Moschino, and Givenchy.
Online language platform Preply has used Google Search data to reveal the most commonly Googled questions when it comes to brand pronunciation.
Daniele Saccardi from Preply said: “A brand name is hugely important. Potential customers will quickly form an impression of your company or product from the name.
“It's important to consider how the name is likely to appear to someone who speaks a different language or might have trouble understanding the meaning.
“A brand that is easy to pronounce is also important. You don’t want a name that’s going to be mispronounced as this is just going to cause confusion amongst customers.”
