Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Receives Saudi Arabia's Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal

Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee has received at his office in Al Wadi Palace Saudi Arabia's Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic Committee who is visiting Bahrain to attend the F1 Rolex Sakhir Grand Prix.

Sheikh Khalid welcomed Prince Abdulaziz, stating that this visit reflects the strong ties connecting Bahrain and Saudi and their people, state news agency BNA reported.

He paid tribute to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain and his brother Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for strengthening joint ties.

The two sides discussed ways to develop bilateral relations, especially in the area of sports.

"Prince Abdulaziz's visit to Bahrain to attend the F1 Rolex Sakhir Grand Prix represents clear support from Saudi to Bahrain in its efforts to host this race," said Sheikh Khalid.

"Saudi has earned the confidence of the FIA to host an F1 race on November 28, 2021, in Jeddah and Bahrain will harness all its capabilities to make this race a huge success," he added.

For his part, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal expressed utmost happiness to be in Bahrain to attend the race, hailing Bahrain’s standing as a leading international hub for major sports events.

He expressed keenness to take advantage of Bahrain's experience in hosting the F1 races, praising the efforts of Sheikh Khalid to develop sports in Bahrain.
