Sheffield Wednesday suffer major selection blow ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Sheffield Wednesday will be without two key players when they face Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The Reds welcome the Owls to the City Ground on Saturday in their next instalment of the Sky Bet Championship.

Wednesday will have to take on Forest without midfielder Sam Hutchinson and defender Moses Odubajo, who will both miss the match due to suspension.

Hutchinson will serve the first of a two-game ban at the weekend, after picking up his 10th yellow card of the season in the Owls’ 1-1 draw with Derby County on Wednesday night.

The same match saw Odubajo shown a red card after picking up a second yellow for a foul on Scott Malone, meaning he will now serve a one-game suspension.

The two suspensions means manager Garry Monk will need to make significant changes to his starting line-up for Saturday’s trip to the City Ground.

Forest are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, one point ahead of Wednesday who are in eighth and among a number of clubs close together in the table vying for a play-off spot.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side are without a win in their previous three matches, with their last outing ending in a 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough on Tuesday night.

The Reds’ last victory on home soil came against arch rivals Derby at the start of last month prior to the international break.
