Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper makes Bolton gameplan claim and discusses Kieran Lee return

Joe Wildsmith believes Sheffield Wednesday will 'give back as good as we get' against Bolton Wanderers as he prepares himself to face an expansive attack at Hillsborough.

The Owls stopper has looked ahead to tomorrow's clash at Hillsborough in League One as Wanderers make the trip over the Pennines.

It will pit seventh against 12th in the third tier of English football in a programme of football which only has four games taking place tomorrow in light of matches being called off due to the international break.

Wildsmith could start tomorrow as goalkeeper in light of Burnley loanee Bailey Peacock-Farrell being called up for Northern Ireland duty.

And he is expecting a testing afternoon inbetween the sticks against Ian Evatt's side, who are the joint second highest top scorers in the division, as he looks forward to the challenge of facing Wanderers.

Wildsmith said : "They are an expansive team. They like to attack at all costs.

"It is going to be a challenge for us to stand up to that and match them up.

"We are ready for it and open to the challenge.

"There will be shots, crosses and attacking opportunities for them. We will give back as good as we get.

"We are positive and ready to take three points".

Tomorrow will see former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Kieran Lee return to his old stomping ground with Wanderers and a place where he is still held in high regard.

Wildsmith has lauded Lee as a 'massive part' of the Owls and knows the midfielder well, believing it is nice to see him back playing football once again after he spent the first half of the 2020/21 campaign as a free agent.

He added: "Kieran was a massive part of the football club. I have known him since breaking through. He is a great lad.

"He is quiet but he is involved in things. It will be good to see him. It is great to see him back playing. It is nice to see him playing regularly."
