Sheffield Wednesday and QPR plotting move for Cardiff City defender

Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers are both reportedly keen on a move for Cardiff City defender Aden Flint.

According to Football Insider, both clubs are keeping tabs on the towering centre-back ahead of Friday's domestic transfer deadline.

Flint has seemingly fallen out of favour at the Cardiff City Stadium, with Curtis Nelson and skipper Sean Morrison currently the first choice pairing at the heart of the City defence.

Morrison has recently been linked with a move to West Ham United, although WalesOnline understands those reports are wide of the mark, with the skipper still an integral part of Neil Harris' plans.

In contrast, there's a suggestion Harris is willing to allow Flint to depart, and reports now claim a move could be on the cards.

The 31-year old joined the Bluebirds from Middlesbrough last summer for a fee believed to be around £6m, and it's not clear what sort of fee would be required to capture the former Bristol City star.

Wednesday have already snapped up one Cardiff player this summer, having recently completed a move for versatile forward Callum Paterson, who also seemed to fall out of favour at the Cardiff City Stadium.

There's also a familiar face at Loftus Road too, with former loanee Albert Adomah recently completing a move on a free transfer following his release from Nottingham Forest.
