Sunderland suffered their third successive league defeat as they were well-beaten by Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
The Black Cats' promotion challenge has hit the buffers over the last ten days, with a home defeat against Charlton Athletic followed by a 5-1 humiliation at Rotherham and now a comprehensive 3-0 reverse at the hands of the Owls.
Theo Corbeanu set Wednesday on their way early in the game, with Florian Kamberi adding the second just before half-time, and then Lee Gregory the third shortly after the break.
