Sheffield Utd vs Liverpool lineups: Confirmed team news, predicted XIs and Premier League injury updates

Having made 11 changes to Liverpool's starting line-up for the midweek Carabao Cup win over MK Dons, Jurgen Klopp will have the luxury of doing the same again for a tricky-looking trip to newly promoted Sheffield United on Saturday.

A return to the team that beat Chelsea last weekend should be expected, with stars such as Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Virgil van Dijk coming back from a well-earned rest.

Klopp will, though, still be without first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker as he recovers from a calf injury, meaning in-form stand-in Adrian San Miguel will retain his place.

The German's options have, however, been boosted by the return of Divock Origi to training, the Reds' Champions League final hero having overcome an ankle injury sustained two weeks ago.

But it appears unlikely that Xherdan Shaqiri will be available for the bench after picking up a calf issue in training.

As for the Sheffield United, the Blades have Billy Sharp suspended against the Premier League leaders, while David McGoldrick is unlikely to return from a groin injury.

Predicted lineups

Sheff Utd XI: Henderson, Basham, Egan, O'Connell, Baldock, Lundstram, Norwood, Fleck, Stevens, McBurnie, Robinson

Liverpool XI: Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Salah, Mane, Firmino
