Sheffield United to increase offer for Matty Cash after £10m bid rejected by Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest have rejected a £10m bid from Sheffield United for Matty Cash according to reports.

The Daily Mail claim the Blades are the latest club to register their interest in the defender who can also play in midfield.

United boss Chris Wilder is eager to bolster his squad for next season and it is claimed he is willing to offer a player and cash in exchange for the Reds' prized asset.

Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi facing a huge fight to keep Cash at the City Ground and he is widely expected to leave the club this summer as a result of their failure to clinch promotion to the Premier League.

Southampton, West Ham and AC Milan have all been linked with the versatile player while Burnley have also been tipped to make a move for the 23-year-old.

Cash was a wanted man in the January window but a move never materialised as he opted to concentrate on aiding Forest's promotion push but saw it fall apart on the final day of the season as they blew the chance of securing a play-off place.

And that has put several clubs on red alert as they look to lure the highly-rated academy graduate who has scored 16 goals during his time at the club.
