Sheffield United 'poised' to submit fresh £5m bid for Nottingham Forest ace

Sheffield United are set to return for Nottingham Forest's Ben Osborn with a fresh £5m bid.

The Mirror report the Blades are returning with a new and improved offer having seen their £3m offer rejected.

NottinghamshireLive reported on Monday how Chris Wilder's side are stepping up their interest in the 24-year-old.

They have splashed out on Lys Mousset from Bournemouth, Callum Robinson from Preston North End and Luke Freeman from Queens Park Rangers since earning promotion to the Premier League last season.

Now Osborn could be on his way to Bramall Lane once a fee is agreed between the two clubs.

He came on as a late substitute in Friday's pre-season friendly win over Crystal Palace , with Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi still retaining hope of keeping the Nigel Doughty Academy product.

Osborn has made 230 appearances in all competitions for Forest, scoring 16 goals.

He turned out 44 times last season, filling in at left-back as well as his natural left-wing position.
