Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder gives Dean Henderson Manchester United update

Sheffield United are still in discussions with Manchester United over securing goalkeeper Dean Henderson on loan again next season.

The England Under-21 goalkeeper impressed on loan at Bramall Lane last season as Sheffield United earned promotion back to the top tier.

MEN Sport understands the south Yorkshire club expect Henderson to sign on loan at some stage, with the goalkeeper keen to play regular first-team football in 2019/20.

The Blades' manager Chris Wilder has made no secret of the fact the club want him back there next season and was pushed for an update on negotiations on Tuesday morning.

"That's ongoing," he replied when asked what the situation with Henderson was. "Same again discussion ongoing between both clubs, between Manchester United and ourselves and Dean obviously played for us last year and did outstandingly well.

"He went away with the U21s this summer so he is getting some well earned rest at the moment. So fingers crossed we can seal that deal but he's still a Manchester United player and in every respect that's still the case."

Former United midfielder Ravel Morrison is currently training with the team ahead of the new campaign as the south Yorkshire club consider making a move for the 26-year-old who is currently without a club.

“We will talk and see how it goes. It could be a good fit for both. We’ll see how it goes," Wilder said about Morrison.

Morrison came through the ranks at United but off the pitch issues led to Sir Alex Ferguson letting the midfielder leave before he managed to break through properly to the first team, having made just three appearances.

The former United midfielder is currently without a club after a six month spell at Swedish side Ostersunds came to an end.
