Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder assesses Everton's top-six chances and makes Liverpool city comparison

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has praised Everton 's passionate supporters and talked up their chances of a top six finish ahead of Saturday's fixture at Goodison Park.

The Blades' boss said Liverpool and Sheffield were similar cities with traditional values. He also praised the talent in Everton's squad as well as Marco Silva 's credentials as a Premier League manager.

"It's a passionate footballing city, Liverpool is just like Sheffield in that respect," said Wilder. "The players they [Everton] have got and brought in and the ones they've brought through the system, it's plain to see, are ready-made players to propel them into the top six.

"They've got a well-equipped, talented and experienced manager at Premier League to guide them through the division."

United have made an impressive start to the season with last week's home defeat to Leicester their first of the campaign.

Unlike Everton, the Blades' have a strong away record but Wilder noted how difficult a ground Goodison is to play at.

"It's as tough as an away game gets for us but we've talked about that before the Chelsea game and the Bournemouth game.

"We've taken points off both of them and we'll be looking to do the same."

Wilder also talked about how the Blades' counter-attacking football could leave them susceptible at the back.

"Individual errors have been our downfall in conceding goals.

"The forward players that Everton have got are really, really good so it's a little bit of risk and reward for them."

The last time the two sides met in the Premier League was a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane in 2007. The last fixture between the two at Goodison was a 3-1 victory for the Toffees in the League Cup in 2011.
