Sheffield United make £10m offer for Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie - reports

Sheffield United have reportedly made a bid worth £10m for Oli McBurnie.

That's according to The Sun , who claim Blades boss Chris Wilder has not yet given up on landing the Scottish international this summer having made him their top transfer target.

It comes after Swansea allegedly slapped a £20m price tag on the 23-year old , with Trevor Birch believed to be adamant that the striker will not be sold on the cheap.

In that context, United's alleged bid will surely be rejected by the Swans, who are believed to be confident of keeping McBurnie at the club this summer.

McBurnie netted 24 goals in 47 appearances for the Swans last season, a record that cemented his status as one of the most lethal finishers in the Championship.

A hefty fee would certainly tempt the Swans into a sale, although the departure of Daniel James, as well as Jordan Ayew's impending move to Crystal Palace, means the club are in a far healthier financial position than this time last year, and are subsequently under far less pressure to move McBurnie on.

Sources close to the Scot have previously played down interest from the Premier League , and have insisted that McBurnie is fully focused on preparing for the new season as a Swansea player, adding he is not actively seeking a move away from South Wales.

Nevertheless a move to the top flight is likely to be of interest to the player, who's also allegedly attracted the attention of Graham Potter's Brighton this summer.
