Sheffield United linked with move for former Sunderland striker Josh Maja

Premier League basement side Sheffield United are being linked with a move for former Black Cats striker Josh Maja.

French journalist Clement Carpentier has said the struggling Blades and Birmingham City are keen on making a move for Maja.

The 21-year-old has only scored twice for Bordeaux this season but did strike a decent return of eight goals last season.

Carpentier claims that Maja could cost around six to seven million euros in the upcoming transfer window.

However, Chris Wilder recently admitted that it would be unlikely they spend any money in the upcoming window having just spent spent over £20m on Rhian Brewster in October

A loan move for Maja is more likely to be on the cards.

The Black Cats academy graduate shot to prominence at in the 2017/18 season scoring on his debut against Fulham.

The striker scored 16 goals in 41 games for the Black Cats and has one senior appearance for the Nigeria national side.
