Sheffield United are reportedly willing to let midfielder Luke Freeman leave the club this month, amid reported interest from Nottingham Forest.
The Reds have been credited with an interest in taking the former Queens Park Rangers midfielder on loan from the Blades for the remainder of the season.
Football Insider claim that United have made the decision to part with Freeman on a temporary basis before Friday’s deadline, should the club bring in a new midfielder.
The Blades are thought to be in talks with Genk over the signing of midfielder Saunder Berge, which could allow Freeman to exit Bramall Lane.
Promotion rivals Leeds United have also been credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, with the Whites already adding to their rivals with the arrivals of Jean-Kevin Augustin and Ian Poveda.
Freeman has found his chances limited since arriving at Bramall Lane from Queens Park Rangers over the summer.
He has made 13 appearances in all competitions - but only three Premier League starts.
It is also being reported that Forest remain hopeful of signing Freeman before Friday’s deadline, with United initially reluctant to let the player leave, but their stance now appears to have changed.
