Sheffield United boss gives latest update on Manchester United's Amad amid loan move rumours

Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic has confirmed his club are interested in a loan move for Amad.

With the 19-year-old having recently returned to Carrington after participating for Ivory Coast at this summer's Olympics, Amad faces a difficult task of breaking into Manchester United 's first team squad.

Jadon Sancho' s arrival this summer and the impressive performances of Anthony Elanga in pre-season have only increased his competition for places in Solskjaer' s starting eleven and substitute bench.

And it seems like Sheffield United are keen to take advantage of Amad's situation at Old Trafford.

When asked about the possibility of brining Amad on loan to Bramall Lane, Jokanovic confirmed the speculation.

“There exists truth in that," he told reporters.

Amad's move to United was confirmed last summer but the Ivorian only joined up with United in January.

He has struggled for playing opportunities in Solskjaer's team and has taken his time to settle.

When asked about the possibility of a loan move for Amad in his press conference, the United boss did not rule out any possibilities but stressed that the club would be only willing to let Amad go to the right club.

"With Amad, I have to say he's doing really, really well in training. He's come back a little bit later after the Olympics and we needed some time to get him back in now he's looking really good. I wouldn't be surprised if he stays as well."

Sheffield United would offer the crucial game time Amad needs in order to hone his game and the opportunity for the Ivorian to settle into English football in the Championship.

With less than two weeks left until the transfer deadline, this deal could go right down to the wire.
