Sheffield United and Brighton target £12m Swansea City striker - reports

Sheffield United are keen on Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie - but face competition from Brighton, according to national media reports.

The Sun state that Chris Wilder is ready to sanction a £12million move for McBurnie, who scored a 24 goals in all competitions for the mid-table Championship side last term.

The lure of Premier League football appears to have been too strong for Potter - and Swansea fans will hope that the same isn't true of their star striker.

Nevertheless, uncertainty surrounding the manager will likely have an effect on the players in the squad.

The Blades see the Scotland forward as the player to keep them in the top flight. They are also reportedly keen on Cardiff City's Gary Madine, who spent the latter half of the campaign on loan at Bramall Lane.

Swansea are seeking to the balance the books in SA1 as the impact of relegation from the Premier League continues to bite.

Youngster Daniel James is set to depart, with a string of big-name clubs chasing his signature.

And Liberty Stadium chiefs may see a fee of £12million as too tempting to turn down for McBurnie as they seek to fill a £30million hole in their finances.
