A sheet metal manufacturer has launched a new division as part of multi-million pound plans to increase production.
Alpha Manufacturing, based in Hixon near Stafford, has set up Alpha Integrated Solutions after seeing a significant uplift in demand for its services.
The new division, which will operate from a facility at nearby Hixon Airfield Estate, will support new and existing customers with the development of complete products, using components from other parts of the supply chain – including Alpha Manufacturing.
Bosses say that the introduction of Alpha Integrated Solutions demonstrates that it is well on track to meet its ambitious five-year growth plan, which includes an £8 million investment in production capability.
Alpha Manufacturing's managing director Paul Clews said: "Since the business was launched in the late eighties we've always had a robust assembly offering, however, in the last 12 months we have seen a sharp increase in demand for our assembly services.
"Two things have really driven this growth. First, the pandemic has forced customers to really consider supply chain efficiencies and product handling, resulting in many more customers choosing Alpha Manufacturing to fabricate the entire product.
"The second driver is a consequence of our metal design and engineering skills; increasingly customers are turning to us to design and fabricate the entire product utilising components from other suppliers to achieve a complete solution."
Alpha Manufacturing is part of the Bri-Stor Group. Its customers are based all around the world, and operate in markets including food production, chemical manufacturing, construction products, medical devices and equipment, IT and data services, hygiene and covid prevention equipment.
