'Sheer class' Leeds United fans react as U23s are crowned national champions

Leeds United's under-23s side have been crowned the PDL National champions after a dramatic penalty shoot-out win over Birmingham City.

Almost 8,000 fans packed into Elland Road after queuing around the stadium to watch a bruising, close-fought final which saw the two sides cancel each other out in a physical encounter that brought about few chances and no goals over 120 minutes.

That meant the final would go to penalties, where Leeds stopper Kamil Miazek was the hero, saving two spot-kicks before Jack Clarke stepped up to score the winning penalty, as Leeds triumphed 4-2.

That sparked wild celebrations among Carlos Corberan's side and the thousands of fans in attendance as the young Whites capped a memorable season in the perfect way.
