A sheep has died with horror injuries after being mauled by a vicious dog at a Scots farm.
The livestock animal was lunged at by the bloodthirsty pet at Cocklehill Farm in Largs.
The sheep sadly suffered brutal injuries and had to be put down.
Officers are now investigating the tragic incident which happened between 7.45am and 10.00am on Wednesday, December 9.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The area is popular with dog walkers and police at Largs are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at that time and witnessed anything suspicious.
"Local police would like to remind dog walkers that it is their responsibility to keep their dogs under proper control whilst on farmland and failure to do so constitutes a criminal offence.
"Please contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2135 of 09/12/20 or call in to Largs Police Office and leave the information for the attention of Constable Winsor."
