Sheep dead after vicious dog attack at Ayrshire farm

A sheep had to be put down after it was viciously attacked by a dog at an Ayrshire farm.

The incident happened at Cocklehill Farm, Largs, between 7.45am and 10am on Wednesday, December 9.

Police, who are appealing for witnesses say the sheep suffered significant injuries and as a result required to be euthanized.

The area is popular with dog walkers and police at Largs are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at that time and witnessed anything suspicious.

Dog walkers are reminded that it is their responsibility to keep their dogs under proper control whilst on farmland and failure to do so constitutes a criminal offence.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2135 of 09/12/20 or call in to Largs Police Office and leave the information for the attention of Constable Winsor.
