‘She wasn’t right for you’: Taylor Swift’s ‘high school boyfriend’ has a hilarious response to her engagement

Most people have their “one that got away”. The old girlfriend or boyfriend from your teenage years, you experience love for the first time with, break up, and then watch from across social media as they grow up, get married, and start a family.

Accepting that the past is the past and being happy for your ex when they get engaged is a sign of maturity – but maybe that’s a teeny bit more difficult when said ex is billionaire global icon Taylor Swift.

This is the situation Andy Slye claims to be in. Currently a wedding photographer, he posted an image that definitely looks like him with a teenage Taylor Swift in high school:

We should underline that we don’t have official confirmation that Slye really was Swift’s high school ex. However, the picture at least looks legit, and legions of dedicated Swifties are currently investigating his story.

Is he actually legit?

Whatever the case, Slye is taking all this very well. In a further post, he explains that his past relationship with Swift helped him bond with his future wife: “I wouldn’t have hit it off with my wife if it weren’t for Taylor. Taylor was a topic the first time we met. We bonded over the music. Now we film weddings as a husband/wife team.”

As for their relationship now: “It’s mostly a one way conversation where I listen to her”. But, as a wedding photographer and filmmaker, he’s always looking for new gigs, and a certain pop icon is about to be organizing the wedding of the century…

The Swift/Kelce wedding is certain to be one of the most iconic pop culture moments of the decade. Swift has made a career out of transforming her life into her art, and we expect and hope that her wedding will be the ultimate expression of that. But, in the near future, we have her eagerly anticipated album Life of a Showgirl coming in just over a month’s time on Oct. 3.

Even with the record-obliterating Eras Tour done and dusted this is clearly still Taylor’s world, we’re just living in it.
