Ghislaine Maxwell may soon be a free woman. The Epstein files situation just isn’t going away for Donald Trump, who has dispatched his Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to Florida to find out exactly what she knows and what she’s prepared to say.
Republican representative Tim Burchett has openly admitted that reducing her sentence is the carrot the Trump administration is dangling in front of her, saying: “one thing we’ve got holding over her head is that if she lies she goes back to her original sentence, and that’s looking at lifetime, and if she’s looking at maybe parlaying this into reducing her sentence then we could have some leverage there.”
Maxwell remains the only person to face justice for being a part of Jeffrey Epstein’s disgusting web of abuse, and naturally, her victims are horrified that an early release is even being discussed. Sarah Ransome, an Epstein survivor, underlined just how monstrous Maxwell is. In comments to CBS, she said:

“She participated. She tortured me and others. She’s worse than Jeffrey. She broke the sisterhood. She broke that bond. She was supposed to be a protector and nurturer and she failed us, and she’ll have to live with it for the rest of her life.”
Are they serious?!
The fact that we’re even talking about Maxwell being freed is horrifying, but this is the reality we live in, and we should prepare for it. Trump-controlled media is already beginning the long process of rehabilitating Maxwell’s image, with Newsmax already saying: “She just might be a victim. She just might be. There was a rush to judgment.”
Newsmax has begun referring to Ghislaine Maxwell as “a victim.”

That said, even with all the reputation washing in the world, releasing Maxwell would be one of the most controversial and shocking steps the Trump administration could take. Do they seriously believe that the public will believe her if she insists Trump was never involved in Epstein’s crimes against children? Why would we believe her after everything we know about her?
Then again, she’s wealthy, remains well-connected, and likely has some serious dirt on some prominent people. We can only hope that doesn’t matter and she stays behind bars where she belongs.
