'She knows we need to stay inside to keep nana safe': This adorable little girl is encouraging people to stay at home

This little toddler has a message for everyone - stay at home.

Harlie Slater-Dawson has been keenly observing the government’s social distancing rules.

And now the country is in lockdown, she’s even decided to close her own beauty salon, which she usually operates from her bedroom.

The three-year-old, from Prestwich, says she’s not taking any chances and won’t be reopening again until Christmas - a self-imposed restriction.

Mum Cherrelle Slater says she and partner Adam Dawson haven’t told Harlie the full extent of the coronavirus epidemic but she knows she needs to “stay inside” to protect those she loves.

“She’s never around when the news is on, but she’s been asking if swimming is open and she usually goes horse riding and to baby ballet so we’ve had to explain that they’re closed for now.

“We’ve been talking to my aunty on Skype and Harlie told her: ‘Mummy is keeping me at home, I can’t go anywhere’.

“She’s decided to close her beauty salon for now.

“She knows we need to stay inside to keep nana safe even though she wants to see her and her cousins.

“I’m working from home at the moment and when I’m on business calls she’ll shout ‘can I come to your house?’”

Though Harlie’s beauty salon is closed for now, she’s still been finding ways to entertain herself during lockdown.

“She loves her make up and putting make up on mum and dad,” says Cherrelle. “Her daddy has been getting his lipstick and nails done.

“We’re lucky that she’s got plenty to do at home and in the garden.

“I have had people saying she gives Boris a run for his money with this ‘stay at home’ message.

“With Harlie there’s never a dull moment.”
