A brother has made a heartbreaking appeal for help after a horror crash left a cyclist fighting for life.
Police said the 35-year-old woman was struck by a grey Smart ForFour on Chester Road in Stretford at around 10.10pm on Friday night.
The driver called emergency services, remained at the scene and spoke to officers, it is understood.
No arrests have been made.
The woman's brother took to social media to appeal for witnesses to aid the police investigation.
"My sister is fighting for her life after being knocked off her bike on Chester Road in Manchester last night," he tweeted.
"She is an incredible person and this is devastating. If you live in the Manchester area please share this to help identify any witnesses. Thank you."
The woman's condition is described as critical.
Sgt Matt Waggett, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "A woman has been left fighting for her life as a result of this collision and we're doing everything we can to piece together the circumstances that led to it occurring.
"Our thoughts are very much with the woman and her family as our enquiries continue and I'd urge any witnesses or anyone with any information to get in touch as soon as possible."
