Shayne Ward was in tears tonight as he accepted a Soap Award for Aidan's suicide storyline on Coronation Street.
The actor starred as the factory owner in the ITV soap last year before he tragically killed himself.
Stepping up onto the stage tonight, he revealed that he wasn't "even supposed to be there", but that Corrie had picked up the phone to get him to come.
Tearing up at the podium, he said: "Us guys just don't talk enough...we need to start talking."
The camera panned to his co-stars, who were crying in the audience.

"We need to use this platform to try and tackle this taboo," he said.
This evening's ceremony aired live from the Lowry Theatre in Manchester and among those vying for gongs tonight were Danny Dyer, Jack P Shepherd, Alison King and Stephanie Davis.
