Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin in 'no rush' as they postpone wedding amid coronavirus

Former Coronation Street and The X Factor star Shayne Ward has revealed why he and fiancée Sophie Austin are okay with postponing their wedding.

The pair got engaged back in 2017, with the pair having a young daughter named Willow, three.

Shayne has this week released his rendition of Over The Rainbow, 15 years after he performed it on The X Factor, to help raise money for the NHS.

Former Hollyoaks favourite Sophie and partner Shayne have been planning their big day, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has put a stop to that.

Like many others, the pair have been forced to reconsider plans - while weddings booked for earlier this year were cancelled due to social distancing rules.

But the pair are in no rush to get back to the planning, and have their big day.

Shayne explained that it was something they discussed together, and that given everything going on it "could wait".

He declared he and his partner would be together forever in a sweet moment talking to Lorraine Kelly on her show on Tuesday.

The pair are okay with holding off, as Lorraine put it, because they have everything they need.

Lorraine asked: "You had to put your wedding off, you were going to get married and that's on hold now."

Shayne joked: "Don't tell Sophie," before revealing they'd discussed everything together.

He told her: "No, literally we spoke about it and that was what was nice about it.

"Everything can wait, there is no rush and we can definitely do this next year, but we're together for life and that is the main thing, we're together regardless."

The couple have been filling lockdown with hilarious TikTok videos, taking on different roles.

Shayne paid all the credit to his wife-to-be Sophie, confessing she comes up with the ideas.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
