Shay Logan takes swipe at Rangers striker Jermain Defoe over Joe Lewis clash

Shay Logan took a pop at Jermain Defoe as he slammed referee Don Robertson's performance in Aberdeen's defeat to Rangers.

The Dons defender - currently out injured - took to social media as his side were slipping to defeat at Ibrox on Sunday.

Rangers won 2-0 thanks to two penalties converted by James Tavernier following fouls on Nikola Katic.

Andy Considine was shown a second yellow card for the second spot kick decision - something that left Derek McInnes and his players furious.

'Hang your head in shame' Rangers star Nikola Katic slammed by Derek McInnes

And Logan reckons the ref was guilty of double standards after an earlier incident in which Jermain Defoe collided with Dons goalkeeper Joe Lewis and avoided a caution.

He tweeted: "Wait a minute Defo (sic) no yellow card but Considines is a yellow card u couldn’t write this s**t # Shambollick"

Before he added: "No consistency what so ever that’s all we as footballers ask for."

Red cards have been a huge talking point in games between Rangers and Aberdeen this season, with six red cards being dished out in the seven meetings between the two teams.

Dons manager McInnes was seething with the referee's calls, saying Robertson's decision to award the second penalty call was "embarrassing", and said Rangers defender Katic should "hang his head in shame" for going down so easily.

Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard also admitted the second penalty should not have been awarded after the game.
