Shawhead rugby star Gregor Hiddleston makes second U20 Six Nations appearance for Scotland

Shawhead’s Gregor Hiddleston made another appearance in the U20 Six Nations on Friday night.

Exeter University’s Robert Gordon, whose mum, Jane, is from Castle Douglas also played in the 26-13 defeat.

Scotland led 7-0 over Wales in Colwyn Bay at half time thanks to a Matt Deehan try and Christian Townsend conversion. A Robin McClintock penalty in the 45th minute gave Kenny Murray’s side a 10-0 lead.

Gordon came on four minutes later for Deehan before Wales scored a try of their own through Alex Mann to make it 10-7.

Another Robin McClintock penalty gave Scotland another six point lead with 15 minutes remaining.

Joe Hawkins went over for Wales in the 67th minute with Daniel Edwards converting to put Wales in a late lead.

Hiddleston came on in the 69th minute for Patrick Harrison and four minutes later Harri Houston scored a try to complete turn the game.

With a minute to go Morgan Morse scored a late try and Edwards converted again to finish off the scoring.
