Shaun Wright-Phillips pinpoints the thing that impressed him most during Man City vs Arsenal

It was a simple case of 'men against boys' when Manchester City got down to business against Arsenal.

That's according to former City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, who thinks Pep Guardiola and his star-studded side got exactly what they deserved at the Etihad Stadium yesterday lunchtime.

On the back of an opening-day defeat at Tottenham, the Premier League champions have chalked up consecutive 5-0 wins on home turf to underline their credentials for a fourth title in five seasons.

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Ferran Torres (2), Gabriel Jesus and Rodri did the damage - but City were also given a helping hand by their rock-bottom opponents.

Indeed, midfielder Granit Xhaka saw red on 35 minutes - when the score was 2-0 - and left his Gunners team-mates with a mountain to climb against Guardiola's dominant line-up.

Speaking on a Premier League Productions panel, which also featured his father Ian Wright, former City graduate Wright-Phillips said: "Man City played fabulous but, like dad [Ian Wright] pointed out, they wasn't really up against much. There wasn't any fight from Arsenal.

"It was easy, pretty much, it was men against boys for the whole game. City dominated and got their rewards for it. But other than that, Arsenal have got some real thins to look at to try and turn this around."

Having progressed through the ranks at City, two spells at club for Wright-Phillips resulted in 226 appearances, 48 goals, 21 assists and winning the FA Cup in 2011.
