Shaun the Sheep Farmageddon Maize Maze opens at Lancashire's new attraction

A giant Shaun The Sheep themed maze is opening at a Lancashire farm this weekend.

Last month we revealed how Aardman, the award-winning creators of Shaun the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit, had partnered with Farmer Ted's Adventure Farm in Lancashire to put together the new attraction .

Areas at the Ormskirk farm have been themed to create a new 'camp' for Shaun the Sheep and friends and there'll be daily shows from Shaun and his side kick Bitzer, as well as 'meet and greets' with photo opportunities.

But now there's even more good news for fans of the films, because a huge Shaun The Sheep Movie Farmageddon Maize Maze is opening for the summer.

The maze features Shaun The Sheep and his new alien friend LU-LA (named in honour of this year's Lunar Landing 50th anniversary) and measures the equivalent of eight football pitches.

As well as finding their way around the twists and turns, visitors walking the maze will also have fun unlocking never-before-seen footage from the movie via the Farmageddon AR viewer app. The Shaun the Sheep 2 movie isn't released until October.

The maze is included in the ticket price for the farm, which costs £10.50 for adults and £12.95 for children (£7.25 for under threes and under ones go free) and can be booked online .

Other Shaun The Sheep themed activities include Bitzer’s Kinetic Club House, where children can pedal, push, turn and pull different devices to make things happen using kinetic energy, all linking back to the original Shaun the Sheep productions.

The three troublesome pigs from the series are also in residence in their pigsty. The activity, named Hog Splash encourages children to catch and recycle the water that the three pigs squirt - whoever collects the most water in the bucket wins.

Elsewhere at Farmer Ted's there are activities for kids of all ages. There are animals including ponies, llamas and guinea pigs, beasts including bearded dragons and boa constrictors, indoor and outdoor play, including an adventure maze, jumping pillow, tractor and barrel rides and lots more.
