Former Celtic midfielder Shaun Maloney swatted away questions regarding the potential for him to take over as the club's new manager.
With Neil Lennon out of the picture after walking away on Wednesday, John Kennedy is in temporary charge but does not seem enamoured in taking the job full-time.
That's led to Maloney's Parkhead connection being raised and whether he could step in next season - either as a boss in his own right or arriving as Roberto Martinez's assistant, his current remit with the Belgian national team.
The Spaniard himself is among the bookies favourites to succeed Lennon a permanent basis.
Maloney in high regard in coaching circles but declined to answer the question head-on - although he insisted he had to "show respect" to his national side.
It certainly wasn't a categorical ruling-out but Maloney insists his former club have to make a decision quickly.
Asked on BBC Sportscene what his thoughts would be on taking the job, he said: "It’s an impossible question for me to answer.
"I have to show respect to the federation who have shown massive faith in me.
"From a sporting point of view, I hope Celtic, whoever decision they make, make it quickly because these decisions have to be made.
"They can definitely fight for the title again next year and the big thing they have to do is get that connection with the support again because if that’s not here, then they’re not going to be able to fight."
