Shaun Goater believes Jack Grealish transfer to Man City is already complete

Manchester City legend Shaun Goater believes Jack Grealish's proposed transfer to the Blues is already complete.

Grealish is currently playing at this summer's European Championship with England, but the MEN revealed last month that City are ready to spend £100m to secure the Aston Villa playmaker's signature and confidence was increasing that a deal could be struck.

Pep Guardiola is a long-term admirer of Grealish and, while the club's priority in the transfer market is to find Sergio Aguero's replacement, the Catalan is wary of squandering the opportunity to sign the 25-year-old, with other top clubs also interested.

It seems nothing on Grealish's future will be decided until after England play Italy in the Euro 2020 final on Sunday.

But that hasn't stopped Goater from explaining his belief that potential deal might already be complete, which will surely excite City supporters.

"I think or Grealish] Jack Grealish because I think it's done personally," Goater told FreeSuperTips when asked whether City should focus on trying to sign Grealish or Harry Kane.

"The only downfall of Harry Kane is that he's late 20s whereas Haaland and Mbappe are a few years younger, so you know you've got them for longer.

"Kane would bring a lot to City, but if it was my money, I'm investing I'd bring in someone who could give more years at the club.

"Grealish shows us the qualities he has every week, he's a very intelligent footballer. He would be able to cope with the movements of the players at City and the movements of the defenders because he's an intelligent player.

"He would fit in because he can play out wide or in the number ten position and he's so good at driving forward with the ball.

"Essentially, he could do a role in a false nine, I think he would work perfectly."
