Shaun Dion Hamilton sounds doubtful for Thursday’s game vs. Bengals

The unfortunate incidents keep coming for the Washington Redskins linebacker core.

It turns out the chest injury suffered by Shaun Dion Hamilton in the team’s first preseason game is likely to hold him out of the next one this Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic provided the report:

“Injury update from Jay Gruden: Trey Quinn (thumb), Paul Richardson (quad), Shaun Dion Hamilton (chest) and Caleb Brantley (foot) ”

Hamilton had a wrap on his chest and is dealing with breathing problems, so it makes sense the Redskins would hold him out at least one more week, especially on a short turnaround.

Since this sounds like a rather minor issue on a short turnaround, the Redskins figure to recoup some of this critical rotational linebacker play as late as the Week 1 opener.
